250 kmph BMW crash horror: Two die, one injured on Mumbai highway; victims' body parts found metres away
PTC Web Desk: A high-speed BMW Z4 crash on the Mumbai-Vadodara Highway near Badlapur claimed two lives and left one person seriously injured in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the police, the accident took place around 3 am when the luxury sports car was travelling from Titwala towards Badlapur. Preliminary information suggests the vehicle was moving at nearly 250 kmph when the driver lost control. The car hit a divider and overturned, leading to a devastating impact.
The force of the collision completely destroyed the BMW, with its parts scattered across the highway. Eyewitnesses said the crash was so severe that body parts of the victims were found several metre away from the accident spot.
The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Dighe and Rikeba Jakap, both residents of Badlapur. They died on the spot. A third occupant, Anand, suffered serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thane. The three were reportedly returning home after attending a birthday celebration when the tragedy occurred.
The police sent the bodies for post-mortem examination, while a forensic team inspected the crash site and collected evidence. Officials said an accidental death case has been registered and a detailed investigation is underway.
Investigators are also examining whether alcohol consumption played any role in the crash.
