Diljit Dosanjh drops a global surprise on his birthday: Teases ‘Senorita’ with J Balvin
PTC Web Desk: Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh marked his 42nd birthday on January 6 with a gift for fans across the globe — the first teaser of his upcoming international track Senorita. What makes the announcement even more special is his collaboration with Colombian music sensation J Balvin, signaling a powerful Punjabi–Latin crossover.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Diljit unveiled the teaser and introduced it as his “birthday surprise” with “the pride of Colombia.” The short clip instantly grabbed attention with its vibrant floral setup, high-energy beats and a stylish fusion of Punjabi rhythms with Latin vibes, setting the tone for what looks like a global party anthem.
The teaser builds curiosity as Diljit commands the screen before J Balvin makes a striking entry towards the end, sending fans into a frenzy. The full music video for Senorita is set to release on January 7.
Reacting to the teaser, J Balvin commented enthusiastically, “Legooooooooooo,” adding to the excitement around the collaboration. The Colombian hitmaker is one of the biggest global names in contemporary music, with multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards, Latin Grammys, MTV VMAs and Latin American Music Awards to his credit. He rose to worldwide fame with 6 AM in 2014 and later made history as the first Latino artist to perform at global festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza and Tomorrowland. Guinness World Records has also hailed him as a leader of the second-generation reggaetón movement.
Meanwhile, Diljit is also gearing up for his big-screen return with Border 2, a war drama directed by Anurag Singh. The film is a spiritual follow-up to JP Dutta’s 1997 classic Border and features a star-studded cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty. The film also stars Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anya Singh.
Earlier this month, the makers released Ghar Kab Aaoge, a reimagined version of the iconic Sandese Aate Hain. The emotional track has been voiced by Diljit Dosanjh, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Sonu Nigam.
Produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Films, Border 2 is said to be inspired by the 1999 Kargil conflict and is scheduled to hit theatres on January 23.
