'Had a breakup': Gurugram entrepreneur approves employee's 'most honest' leave application, internet reacts
PTC News Desk: Gen Z has often become topic of discussion due to the way they navigate their personal and professional. Another incident involving the generation has sparked after a Gurgaon-based entrepreneur shared the “most honest leave application” he has ever received in a post on X.
Jasveer Singh, co-founder and CEO of Knot Dating in Gurugram, shared a screenshot of a leave request mail and saying, "Gen Z doesn't do filters!"
Describing the incident, Singh said he received an email from an employee requesting leave for rather personal reason that happens to be a break up. The employee admitted that he was struggling to concentrate at work and needed a few days to recover.
The post also included a screenshot of the leave application that read: “I recently had a breakup and haven’t been able to focus on work, I need a short break. I’m working from home today, so I’d like to take leave from the 28th to the 8th.”
The incident moved the internet with several social media users appreciating the employee's honesty while asserting that such transparency reflects a broader approach at workplaces where mental wellbeing is openly discussed.
Several users asked whether Singh had approved the request. The CEO responded, “Leave approved, instantly,” earning him praise for his supportive stance.
others users also thronged to the comment section and shared their views. “This is perfectly okay. Better yet, don't explain what it's for at all.” Another joked, “There are people who don’t even take that many leaves for their marriage,” to which Jasveer Singh replied, “But I think breakups require more leave than marriage.”
