PTC Web Desk: Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy has made headlines by gifting Rs 15 lakh shares, valued at over Rs 240 crore, to his four-month-old grandson, Ekagrah Rohan Murty. The transfer, constituting 0.04% of Infosys' stake, occurred in an off-market transaction, resulting in Narayana Murthy's holding in Infosys decreasing to 0.36%.

Ekagrah Rohan Murty, the son of Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan, was born on November 10 in Bengaluru, marking him as the third grandchild of Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murty, who recently took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP.

Notably, Narayana Murthy's family has a significant presence in Infosys, with his daughter-in-law, Akshata Murty, owning a 1.05% stake, Sudha Murty holding 0.93%, and Rohan Murthy possessing 1.64% as of the December quarter.

The legacy of Infosys, initiated by Narayana Murthy and six other co-founders in 1981, continues to thrive. Reflecting on the company's journey, Narayana Murthy fondly recalled the historic listing of Infosys on Nasdaq, a monumental achievement for Indian businesses. Additionally, he praised his wife, Sudha Murty, highlighting her qualifications and contributions to the success of Infosys.
