‘Mainu hawa lag gai ae’: Diljit Dosanjh’s solo trip turns into a desi remedy comedy show

PTC Web Desk: Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh is currently on a solo trip (destination undisclosed), but instead of travel updates, he treated fans to a dose of laughter, desi nuskas and cooking lessons on Instagram stories. Battling a runny nose amid a cold wave, Diljit turned his kitchen into content: with his trademark humour fully intact.

As winter chills grip India and beyond, Diljit’s desi fixes struck a chord with fans who swear by home remedies.

Kicking off the series, Diljit cheerfully announced,

“Pehla chilla thoda jeya mota baneya hai, par swaad bot aa, te dooja chadiya hoya aa.”

Soon after, he revealed the reason behind his kitchen experiments, saying,

“Solo trip, te mainu hawa lag gai ae, matlab zukaam ho gaya hai. Running nose types feeling.”

What followed was a hilarious narration of how desi food is his ultimate medicine. Explaining his plan, Diljit said,

“Besan de chille with sunka, te iddan di remedies chalangiyan ik din, pher main theek ho jawanga. Ikk taan main khade khade kha geya.”

The singer then showcased his carefully sourced “essentials” — besan, khus khus, coconut, organic honey and ghee — while cracking jokes about finding besan abroad. After much confusion, Google searches and market hopping, Diljit finally discovered that besan is sold as chickpea flour or garbanzo flour overseas — a revelation he shared with visible pride.

Diljit rounded off his session by listing three trusted desi nuskas:

Besan chilla

Khus khus fix — khus khus, khopra, jaggery and ghee (with a warning to eat less or face digestive consequences, joking, “phir mudd ke na keho”)

Sunka (besan doodh) — chickpea flour cooked with ghee, milk and sugar

Not forgetting household discipline, Diljit amused fans by noting,

“Bhaande naal de naal saaf kitte ja rahe hun.”

Wrapping up the desi health masterclass, he shared his final advice with followers:

“Mooh lappet ke so jo.”
