PTC Web Desk:  A private hospital doctor in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has come under scrutiny after a family alleged that he sealed their young son’s bleeding head wound with Fevikwik adhesive instead of administering proper stitches.

Jaspinder Singh, a resident of Jagriti Vihar, reported that his son injured himself after hitting his head on a table corner while playing at home. The family rushed the child to Bhagyashree Hospital, where the attending doctor allegedly instructed them to purchase a Rs 5 Fevikwik tube and used the adhesive to close the wound.

According to the complaint, the child cried continuously in pain, but the doctor claimed the discomfort was due to fear and would soon ease. However, when the pain continued throughout the night, the family took the boy to Lokpriya Hospital the next morning. There, doctors reportedly spent nearly three hours removing the hardened adhesive before administering four stitches to properly treat the injury.

The family stated that the incident could have turned dangerous had the glue entered the toddler’s eye.

Meerut Chief Medical Officer Dr Ashok Kataria confirmed receiving the complaint. “A probe committee has been constituted. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation,” he said.

Authorities are now examining whether medical guidelines were ignored and if disciplinary or legal steps should follow. The family has also escalated their complaint to the Chief Minister’s Office.
