World Mental Health Day: 'Zindagi koi race nahi hai... kabhi ruk kar jeena bhi zaroori hai...'

PTC Web Desk:  It’s ironic how, in an age of endless connectivity, people feel more disconnected than ever — from themselves. Everywhere you look, people are running — chasing deadlines, trends, validation, success — like puppets pulled by invisible strings. The strings may differ for each of us, but the feeling is the same: anxiety.

In today’s fast-paced world, anxiety has quietly become a constant companion. It hides behind the glow of phone screens, the urgency of notifications, and the pressure to “keep up.” Many don’t even realise how tense they’ve become, until the body starts showing signs: sleepless nights, rapid heartbeats, constant worry, or that sinking feeling of “not doing enough.”

Unlike sadness, anxiety doesn’t always shout. It whispers, builds up slowly, and takes hold of your thoughts until peace feels unfamiliar. The truth is, modern life has blurred the line between being productive and being perpetually stressed. Everyone is striving to do more, earn more, achieve more , often forgetting the simple joy of being.

As the world observes World Mental Health Day, it’s time to pause and reflect. The theme isn’t just about awareness, it’s about reclaiming control over our minds. Mental health is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. Seeking help is strength, not weakness.

Small steps can make a big difference. Putting the phone aside for an hour, taking a walk without music, talking to a friend, or just breathing consciously. These moments help loosen the strings that tie us down.

Because we are not puppets. We are humans, capable of slowing down, feeling deeply, and choosing peace over pressure.
