UP Elections 2022: Congress releases 4th list of 61 candidates, nominates 24 women

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022: Congress on Sunday released the fourth list of candidates for the upcoming crucial UP polls which will start on February 10. With its fourth list, the grand old party announced the tickets to 61 contestants. Of the total 61, the party had named 24 women in the list. According to the list, Shikha Pandey will contest from the Bisalpur constituency, while Jitendri Devi from Dhaurahra. The list also announced candidacies of Chandani (Sri Nagar), Vandana Bhargav (Biswan), Sudha Dwivedi (Sareni), Archana Rathore (Bhojpur) and Vineeta Devi (Kannauj) among others. The second list consisted of the names of 16 women out of 41 candidates while the third had 37 women nominees out of a total of 89 candidates. Polls for 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted in seven phases, starting from February 10. The second phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections will be held on February 14, third on February 20, fourth on February 23, fifth on February 27, sixth on March 3 and the seventh and last phase will be conducted on March 7.
