Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), March 6: Ahead of the last and seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 40 companies of police forces and around two and a half thousand policemen have been deployed for the security of polling stations in the state. Apart from this, over 3,000 home guard personnel have also been deployed in UP. "40 companies of police forces have been deployed for conducting secure polling. UP set to go for polling in final phase Polling parties have left for Varanasi ahead of the polls and will reach the polling stations at around 6 pm with full preparations to ensure safe and secure elections. Meanwhile, police have also warned that appropriate legal action will be taken against whoever tries to impede the election process. UP set to go for polling in final phase Notably, there are a total of 8 Legislative Assemblies in Varanasi including Cantt, City North, City South, Ajra, Pindra, Sewapuri, Rohaniya and Shivpur. In the final phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, 613 candidates will be in the fray for 54 seats in the nine districts of Mau, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Bhadohi (Sant Ravidas Nagar) on Monday.
