WATCH: Two lifelines for Marnus Labuschagne as Jasprit Bumrah, Prithvi Shaw drop sitters

IND vs AUS 1st TEST Adelaide, Prithvi Shaw and Jasprit Bumrah Dropped Catch of Marnus Labuschagne: India was 233/6 on Day 1 after which the Australian team restricted Men in Blue at 244 in their first innings on Day 2 of the first Test at Adelaide Oval on Friday. India lost 4 early wickets for just 11 runs as the Australian pacers dominated in the morning.

India, too, shared the session as Jasprit Bumrah struck with the ball to give the team a confident start.

Bumrah led the team off to a good start with 2 quick wickets as he dismissed both Australian openers, Matthew Wade (8) and Joe Burns (8). However, he dropped a catch with a chance to put more pressure on the hosts.

Jasprit Bumrah dropped Marnus Labuschagne at the fine leg boundary when he was batting at 12 in the 18th over. Shami had bowled a short ball which Maruns pulled away. Mistimed and the ball went straight to Bumrah, who ended up making a mess of the catch.

Bumrah may have misjudged the distance from the rope and thus was not sure whether to go for the catch or to throw the ball inside to save some runs.

Later in the innings, Prithvi Shaw got another opportunity to dismiss Labuschagne but he also dropped the catch to give the right-hander two lifelines.

Meanwhile, Ashwin got the big fish as he dismissed Steve Smith in the 27th over. Smith went back to the pavilion after scoring just 1 run off 29 balls as India got its fourth wicket in the Adelaide Oval on Friday.

With this, Australia would now be hoping for a comeback from the likes of Labuschagne, Travis Head, and captain Tim Paine.
