US-Iran war: Iran rejects US conditions for ceasefire, issues own counter-proposal to end war
US-Iran war: Iran has rejected the United States' conditions for ceasefire and said that it will end was on its own terms.
"Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met," the official said asserting that Tehran intends to continue with its defence against Washington and has vowed to inflict 'heavy blows' till its conditions are fulfilled.
The Islamic Republic has outlined five conditions under which Iran would consider ending the war:
These demands are in addition to those presented to the United States during the second round of talks in Geneva, held just days before American and Israeli strikes on February 28 that killed the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military and government officials.
Meanwhile iran has threatened to block the Bab al-Mandeb Strait-- a narrow waterway that controls sea traffic toward the Suez Canal-- if the United States and Israel escalate the war by attacking its islands, including Kharg.
"If the enemy wants to take action on land in the Iranian islands or anywhere else in our lands or to inflict costs on Iran with naval movements in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman," Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported.
"We will open other fronts for them as a surprise so that their action will not only be of no benefit to them but will also double their costs," it further added.
