Rain showers to continue this week in Chandigarh Rainfall is expected to continue into this week bringing respite to the locals by bringing down temperatures, confirmed India Meteorological Department. “Light to moderate rainfall is expected for most of the next week. It is too early to predict if heavy spells will be received,” said Surender Paul, director of the Indian meteorological department’s local centre. Paul said monsoon activity, which has been weakened, is expected to spread in coming days. “It was spread over isolated to some areas (up to 50%) in the region but is now expected to spread over many to most areas (50- 100%),” he said. According to IMD officials, a drop in temperature is expected over the week, starting Monday. Maximum temperature is expected to drop to 33°C on Monday and 31°C in the next three days. Minimum temperature might drop to 24°C. There was an eight -day dry spell from July 5 to 12, the officials added. -PTC News
