Washington, March 29: The instant messaging app WhatsApp is experimenting with a 2GB file transfer limit between users. According to MacRumors, WhatsApp's file-sharing capabilities have become a key feature of the service, and the app has allowed users to share media files within conversations since 2017, but its 100MB file size limit hasn't changed. Sources say the Meta-owned site has been testing a new 2GB file size limit for some users in Argentina for the past few days. WhatsApp to boost file-size limits With the limit raised to 2GB, the platform should be much more suitable for sharing video clips and other large media files, all of which would be safely transmitted via WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has now started offering multi-device support to all users, which has been a long time coming. Until recently, users had access to the feature via WhatsApp's opt-in beta testing programme.
