Chinese Spy Balloon's covert mission revealed: Utilised American tech for espionage, report claims
Washington, June 29: According to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal, the Chinese spy balloon that traversed the United States earlier this year utilised American technology to gather audio-visual information. The preliminary findings from an undisclosed investigation indicate that the balloon incorporated commercially available equipment from the United States, alongside specialised Chinese sensors and other tools designed to capture photographs, videos, and other forms of information for transmission back to China.
These revelations challenge China's claim that the balloon was solely intended for weather monitoring purposes.
Multiple defense and intelligence agencies in the United States conducted an analysis, leading to the conclusion that the spy balloon was indeed intended for espionage. The report suggests that the craft's true purpose was to gather sensitive information rather than monitor weather patterns.
However, despite the sophisticated equipment on board, the balloon did not appear to transmit any data during its eight-day journey over Alaska, Canada, and various contiguous U.S. states.
As of now, there has been no immediate response from the White House or the Federal Bureau of Investigation regarding the report.
