Kapil Sharma’s Kaps Cafe in Canada attacked again; gangsters linked to Lawrence Bishnoi claim responsibility
PTC Web Desk: Comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kaps Cafe in Surrey, Canada, came under gunfire late Wednesday, the third such attack in four months. The latest shooting has been claimed by gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kuldeep Sidhu, who are reportedly connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
A video of the incident, filmed from inside a moving car, surfaced online showing a man extending his arm out of the vehicle’s window and firing multiple rounds at the cafe. Witnesses said at least six shots were discharged during the attack.
Shortly after the incident, Dhillon and Sidhu posted a video message online taking responsibility for the shootings and warning people to stay away. “I, Kuldeep Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon take responsibility for the three shootings that took place at Kaps Cafe. We have no enmity with the general public,” the message read.

The gangsters added a threatening note directed toward those who “engage in illegal work and do not pay people,” cautioning them to “be prepared.” They also warned individuals “speaking against religion in Bollywood,” saying ominously that “bullets can come from anywhere.” This marks the third attack on Kapil Sharma’s cafe.
The first incident occurred on July 10, when shots were fired while some employees were still inside. Around 10 bullets struck the cafe's glass windows, though no one was injured. The second attack took place on August 8, during which over 25 bullets were fired. A voice in the video of that shooting claimed, “We had called the target, but he didn’t hear the ring. If he still doesn’t respond, the next action will be in Mumbai.” The message forced the police to increase security outside Kapil Sharma’s Mumbai residence.
Following the July attack, a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) member, Harjit Singh Laddi, claimed responsibility, alleging that remarks made during one of Sharma’s shows had insulted Nihang Sikhs. The BKI is a designated terrorist organisation in Canada, and Laddi remains on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most-wanted list.
In a statement following the earlier shootings, Kaps Cafe had vowed to remain open and serve as a place of “warmth and community,” rejecting all forms of violence.
