Gunmen storm Mexican resort, child among 7 killed
Mexico City, April 16: At least seven people including a child were killed on Saturday when armed men stormed a resort in the central Mexican state of Guanajuato, a region increasingly plagued by drug cartel violence, authorities said.
The footage of the incident widely surfaced n social media. The video showed the aftermath of the attack in a palm-studded resort in the small town of Cortazar, about 65 km (40 miles) south of Guanajuato city.
According to Cortazar's local security department, it was unclear who was responsible for the firing that killed the seven-year-old, three men, and three women. One person had also been seriously injured in the La Palma resort.

However, in recent years, rival drug cartels have been waging brutal battles for control of territory and trafficking routes through the state.
Shocked adults and children were seen walking by piles of dead bodies near a swimming pool in the video taken shortly after the incident.
"After the attack, the attackers fled, but not before causing damage to the resort store and taking the security cameras and the monitor," Cortazar's security department said.
