Indian student found dead at Purdue University in the US: Official
PTC News Desk: Neel Acharya, a double major in computer science and data science at Purdue University in Indiana, USA, has been confirmed dead after being reported missing on social media. The tragic news was conveyed in an email to the university's computer science department on Monday by interim CS head Chris Clifton.
In the email, Clifton expressed deep sorrow, stating, "It is with great sadness that I inform you that one of our students, Neel Acharya, has passed away." The confirmation of Acharya's death was received from the Office of the Dean of Students, who found a deceased person matching Neel's description with his ID.

He was last seen by the Uber driver who dropped him off in Purdue university.

Neel Acharya's mother, Gauri Acharya, had sought help on social media platforms, including X, when her son went missing on January 28 at 12:30 AM EST. She reached out for assistance, stating, "Our son Neel Acharya is missing since yesterday... He was last seen by the Uber driver who dropped him off in Purdue University."

In response to Gauri Acharya's post, the Consulate General of India in Chicago assured, "(The) Consulate is in touch with Purdue University authorities and also with Neel’s family. Consulate will extend all possible support and help."
The Purdue University community, including students and faculty, mourns the loss of Neel Acharya, and condolences have been extended to his friends and family. The circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be disclosed.
