Pakistan blast: Eight injured in explosion outside Islamabad district court; probe underway
PTC Web Desk: At least eight persons were injured in an explosion that took place outside the district court building in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Tuesday. According to a police spokesperson, several of the injured are in critical condition.
The authorities are still determining the nature of the blast. “We are investigating what kind of explosion it was. More information will be available once the forensic team submits its report,” the police official said.
The explosion occurred near the main entrance of the Islamabad district court, an area that usually sees heavy footfall due to ongoing legal proceedings and the presence of litigants.
Local media outlets aired disturbing visuals showing injured individuals lying near a police vehicle at the site of the blast.
The police have cordoned off the area, and bomb disposal experts are examining the site to ascertain the cause and motive behind the explosion.
