Pakistan condemns Rajnath Singh's LoC crossing remarks, citing threat to regional peace

Islamabad, July 27: Pakistan has expressed criticism over remarks made by India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, stating that India is prepared to cross the Line of Control (LoC) to uphold its honor and dignity. The Pakistani authorities have labeled the "belligerent rhetoric" as a potential threat to regional peace and stability.

Rajnath Singh made the statements during his address at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Ladakh, on the occasion of the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas. He emphasised that India would not compromise when it comes to safeguarding the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the country. He asserted that if provoked, India would not hesitate to cross the LoC to protect its honor and interests.

Furthermore, Singh highlighted that the Kargil War was imposed on India, and despite previous attempts at resolving issues through talks, India had experienced betrayal from Pakistan. He assured that the Indian Armed Forces had been given the freedom to eliminate threats to the nation.

In response to Rajnath Singh's statements, the Foreign Office in Islamabad asserted that Pakistan possesses the capability to defend itself against any form of aggression. They urged India to exercise caution, emphasizing that the belligerent rhetoric could destabilise the strategic environment in South Asia and pose a risk to regional peace and stability.
