Putin condemns Pahalgam terror attack, extends support to India in fight against terrorism
PTC Web Desk: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists. He extended all support to India in its fight against terrorism and expressed condolences for the people who lost their lives in the attack.
According to a statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, President Putin expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and conveyed solidarity with India in its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism. He emphasised that those responsible for the attack must be held accountable.
During the call, both leaders reiterated their shared commitment to enhancing the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia. Prime Minister Modi also extended his greetings to President Putin on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. Furthermore, Modi invited Putin to attend the upcoming annual India-Russia summit scheduled to take place later this year in India.
