Three back-to-back earthquakes rocks Nepal; 5 hospitalised
Nepal earthquakes: A third 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal right after the twin earthquakes jolted the Himalayan country's western region on Tuesday afternoon.
At least five persons were admitted to the District Hospital Bajhang following the earthquakes, and traffic on major highways was affected as a landslide induced by the quake blocked a section of road, according to the District Police Office.
There were no reports of human casualties, although aftershocks continued to tremble the district. Cracks were found in buildings across the district.
Images from the scene revealed multiple houses that had collapsed and been destroyed.
Between 2:30 and 4:50 p.m. (IST), three earthquakes and two aftershocks were registered with the epicentre in the Bajhang area.
At 3:45 p.m., a third earthquake of magnitude 4.1 on the Richter Scale was felt, with the epicentre once again near the Bajhang district.
According to Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the first two earthquakes were of magnitude 5.3 and 6.3 on the Richter Scale.
Tremors were also reported across parts of India.
