UK: 'We demand action, not statements...' Indian diaspora comes out in solidarity with Tricolour

London (UK), March 21: The Indian community gathered in front of the Indian High Commission in London to protest the "disrespectful act" by Khalistan supporters towards the Indian flag and urged that the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the British government take action against the offenders as soon as possible.

The desecration of the Indian flag this past Sunday sparked an unprecedented outpouring of support from Britain's diverse Indian population. Expats from all around the UK travelled to London to show their support for the Indian flag and the unity of India. The gathering overwhelmingly rejected the idea of Khalistan, declaring that there are no takers.

"We demand action, not statements from Sadiq Khan and from the British government," one protestor said.

Protesters were seen dancing to the tune of "Jai Ho" from the film "Slumdog Millionaire" in a video. Notably, British security agents were seen shaking a leg with members of the Indian diaspora to the groovy, patriotic melody during this peaceful protest.

"It was my duty to come out in support of India and the Indian government after what happened on Sunday. I think it is very important that we express our disappointment and anger at the insult of the Indian flag. We all are standing united under our Tricolour," another protestor said.

On Sunday, a pro-Khalistan protestor in London climbed the High Commission of India's balcony and pulled down the Indian flag. The video of the incident is going viral on social video.

The Khalistani protestor can be seen on the balcony attempting to bring down the Indian flag in the now-viral video. At the end of the video, another man climbs the balcony from inside to prevent further damage to the flag.
