US flash floods: Five killed in eastern Pennsylvania, tsunami warning issued
US flash floods: As per the sources, flash floods claimed the lives of five people in eastern Pennsylvania.
As per the sources, two young children from the same family, a 2-year-old girl and a 9-month-old boy, were still unaccounted for.
Sources also reported that the family from Charleston, S.C., came to visit family and friends in the area when they became prey to a flash flood.
While the mother is among those confirmed dead, the father, 4-year old son, and grandmother all made it out alive.
“The incident has been unbelievably devastating to all the families involved, all of our first responders, and to our community as a whole,” the police department said.
“However, our commitment to finding the two children who are still missing is unwavering as we will do all that we can to bring them home to their loved ones,” the police department added.
An earthquake of magnitude 7.0 hit 801km SW of Homer in Alaska, US, the National Centre of Seismology (NCS) reported.
The depth of the earthquake was found to be 10 km.
According to NCS, the epicentre was recorded at latitude 54.59 and Longitude -161.05, respectively.
There were no reports of any casualties or material damage in the incident as yet. However, a Tsunami warning was issued, as per established protocol, in some areas of US.
