Amritsar: Car robbers return owner’s insurance papers so he can file claim
A restaurant owner’s car was robbed by goons at gunpoint, but they came back to let him keep the registration certificate and the car’s insurance papers so he could claim insurance for the stolen vehicle.
On Saturday, when Patwinder Singh was returning home after dropping his wife off at Hall Gate, Amritsar two unidentified men stopped Singh’s car.
One of the burglars had a gun aimed at Singh and forced himself into the back seat, while the second man took the driver’s seat. Meanwhile a third man followed them in another vehicle.
Singh told the police that after he was abducted in his own car, the thieves asked him to take his vehicle's registration certificate and insurance policy along with him and abandoned him at Verka Bypass.
The police have registered a case and have started investigations into the incident. -PTC News
