Congress has never valued farmers nor has it appreciated its hard work: PM Modi in Punjab
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the 'thanksgiving' rally for farmers in Malout attacks Congress, said that opposition cannot see farmers happy and contented. PM Modi began his speech with famous salutation "Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh". In the last 70 years, most of the times the party which our farmers placed their faith in did not recognize their hard work. Only promises were made to farmers, and party worked for the interest of only one family: PM Modi said while addressing the rally in Punjab's Malout. 'Punjab has always been known for its agriculture and India is proud of its farmers from Punjab. Not just Punjab, I salute the hard working farmers from all over the country, you have never been afraid of hard work come what may,' said PM Modi. 'The farmer should have been the first to be uplifted, but for decades, you were ignored by Congress that ruled India since independence. It has always been a party that only cares for its own benefits and its own comforts, they do not care for you. Never have, never will,' PM added. 'Congress only misused their power, manipulated and fooled you but we are determined to change the situation of the farmers in our nation. The respect of the soldier on the border or the soul of the nation- the farmer, it is our responsibility to give them their due,' the PM added. PM Modi lauded initiatives undertaken by farmers for increased productivity and said, 'Irrespective of the weather, the economic condition, the farmers of Punjab have fed people with immense hard work and dedication.' 'It was our government that fulfilled the promise of One Rank One Pension. And now it is our government that has fulfilled the promise of MSP. The Congress just made false promises and sat on it for decades. We made these possible in just 4 years.' 'The farmers of Punjab and Haryana will greatly benefit from this significant decision of MSP (Minimum Support Price). In some cases, the MSP has been more than doubled.' -PTC News
