CWG 2018: India defeat Nigeria in Men's Team Table Tennis event Commonwealth Games 2018: India defeat Nigeria 3-0 to win gold in Men's Team Table Tennis event on Monday. Indian men’s team win the gold medal after defeating Nigeria 3-0 in the final. Sharath Achant defeated Bode Abiodun 4-11, 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 in the first singles. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran helped India take a 2-0 lead after beating Segun Toriola 10-12, 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in the second singles match. Finally, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran/Harmeet Desai beat Olajide Omotayo/Bode Abiodun 11-8, 11-5, 11-3 to seal the deal. Pardeep Singh bagged the silver in the Men's 105kg Final weightlifting with a total lift of 352kg which included 152kg in snatch and 200kg in clean and jerk.

Mehuli Ghosh had to settle for Silver after she lost in the shoot-off against Singapore's ML Veloso in women's 10m Air Rifle event. Apurvi Chandela secured Bronze for India in the same event by scoring 225.3 points after 24 shots. Jitu Rai bagged the second Gold in shooting for India at the Commonwealth Games 2018 with a masterful performance in the Men's 10m Air Pistol Final. Jitu created a new CWG record of 235.1, as while Om Mitharwal bagged the bronze for India with a score of 214.3. -PTC News
