First day of Punjab Vidhan Sabha winter session, Obituary references made
The opening day proceedings of the winter session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha concluded with obituary references. The three-day winter session commenced here on Monday. The references were made to Rajmata Mohinder Kaur, the mother of CM Captain Amarinder Singh, former MPs Kanwar Vishavjit Prithvijit Singh, Mohinder Singh Kalyan, former MLAs Harmohinder Singh, Balwant Singh, Raja Singh, Balbir Singh, Surjan Singh Joga and Comrade Raj Kumar. Former CM and Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal also attended the session for the first time since new Vidhan Sabha was constituted after Assembly elections this year. Besides former Jathedar Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib Giani Mal Singh, freedom fighters, farmers who committed suicides, the students killed in Bathinda road mishap and those who lost lives in Ludhiana factory collapse were also paid tributes.
