SAD Protest: Case registered against Sukhbir Badal, Majithia and others
Punjab Police has registered a case on the allegations of blocking the road on Harike Bridge and obstructing the traffic against Sukhbir Singh Badal.
The case has been registered under sections 341/283/431/188/148 of IPC and 8 B of National Highway Act 1956 by Makhu Police Station against these leaders and 150-200 more Akalis who were sitting on dharna the highway.
Apart from Sukhbir Singh Badal, the other seven mentioned in the FIR No.17/8/12-2017 registered for the blockade at Bangali Wala Pul – near Hari Ke Bridge are Bikramjit Singh Mathia, Ranjit Brahmpura, Karaj Singh, Capt Dharam Singh, Hari Singh Zira, Avtar Singh Minna and Kanwarjit Singh Fouji Barkandi and others 50 along with 150-200 unidentified persons.
Added here that the on Sukhbir Badal’s call, SAD leaders and workers staged dharnas on several key roads, including Ludhiana-Jalandhar, Amritsar-Bathinda, Bathinda-Mansa and Amritsar-Jalandhar. The dharna was finally lifted after the demands of the protesting Akalis were accepted.
The protest has started over the firing incident at Mallanwala on preventing the Akalis to file the nomination papers for MC polls and non-issuance of No Objection Certificates.
