1, 20,000 general category candidates to qualify for JEE advanced After the successful conduct of the JEE Main 2019 April examination as well, the National testing Agency (NTA) has put the number of general category candidates for the JEE Advanced at 1, 20,000. As many as 9.45 lakh students had registered for the April examination. Overall in January and April combines, about 12 lakh students have appeared for the JEE Main 2019. Out of these, only about 2.45 lakh would be shortlisted for the JEE Advanced 2019. Check out the expected cut off for each category here. The NTS has come out with the criteria on how the candidates would be selected. For JEE Advanced 2019, the top 2, 45,000 candidates (based on their JEE Main 2019 Rank) would be picked. This would be further divided on the basis of different categories. Expected maximum and minimum marks that would, in turn, constitute for those ranks are given below.
