14 year old Boy dies after getting thrashed by classmates in school, harassed for months
14-year-old boy lost his life allegedly after being beaten up by his classmates at a school in Delhi on Thursday afternoon. The incident took place at a private school in northeast Delhi's Shiv Vihar near Karawal Nagar. A group of students informed the school authorities that one of their classmates had fainted, said the police official. The student was rushed to a hospital in Loni, Ghaziabad where doctors declared him brought dead. The victim was identified as Prince, a student of Class VII. He did not have visible injuries on his body, however his ribs were fractured. A case of culpable homicide has been registered and one of the students has been detained, said DCP (northeast) Ajit K Singla. “We are also probing whether he was hit with something that led to his death," he added. Prince and four boys elder to him started fighting during which the victim was pushed against a wooden bench and then kicked in the abdomen. He was reportedly beaten for over 15 minutes before falling unconscious. "The principal (Vireshwar Kumar) had assured us that he would take action, but nothing was done. We came to know that the youths had threatened my son for complaining to the principal on Tuesday. They warned to teach him a lesson," TOI quoted Prince's father, Arvind, as saying. -PTC News
