2060 complaints of violation of model code of conduct received: CEO,Chandigarh : After the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct in the State 2060 complaints have been receive regarding the violation of Model Code of Conduct, out of these 1762 complaints have been disposed of whereas 298 complaints under consideration. Disclosing this Dr. S Karuna Raju Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab said that 1881 complaints have also been received from Election Commissioner of India out of which 164 complaints have been resolved and 17 complaints are under consideration. Similarly, 325 complaints concerning police have been received. 149 complaints are against the working of police department. Likewise, 20 complaints pertaining to Excise Department, 77 complaints pertaining to rural development & Panchayat Department, 79 complaints against Local Bodies departments and 1157 complaints have been received against other departments. Dr. Raju further said that 112 complaints have been received from political parties of Punjab whereas 58 complaints have been received against the political parties. -PTC News
