24 laptops, Rs 44,000 stolen in sector 35 Chandigarh overnight
Chandigarh Sector 35 witnesses a shocking incident last night, with twenty-four laptops worth several lakhs of rupees and Rs 44,000 were stolen from a computer store. According to the police, the complainant, Sanjay Duggal, reported that they had closed the showroom at night. On reaching the showroom the next morning, the locks of the shutters were found broken. The incident took place on the night intervening August 29 and 30. A case has been registered at the Sector 36 police station. The police were informed about the incident immediately and the investigation had begun. Laptops along with desktops were stolen from the store, as per reporters. The thieves had also taken away all the cash lying in the counter drawers. As per sources, the complainant mentioned that they had accidentally switched off the DVR of the CCTV cameras installed at the showroom due to which the theft incident could not be recorded. “We are scrutinising the footage of CCTV cameras installed near the spot,” said a police official. -PTC News
