35 IIT Students Among 45 Trekkers Missing In Lahaul And Spiti; 12o stranded in Khoksar Nearly 45 people, out which 35 students of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee have gone missing. They went trekking in Lahaul and Spiti district on Monday. It happened after a heavy snowfall in the region. Also, 120 people are stranded in Khoksar of Lahaul Spiti district. They were supposed to return to the tourist hub in Manali and when they didn’t, they tried contacting them, but they are unable to contact the entire group so far. Recently, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed heavy rain and snowfall in many areas including Manali area. Nearly 6 people have died in separate accidents due to heavy rains in the region on Monday. The government has decided that schools would remain closed on Monday and on Tuesday as well in the regions of Kangra, Kullu and Hamirpur districts. As the Beas is flowing above the dangerous level mark, many houses also swept away in flash floods. The district administration has issued "high alert" in Kullu.
