4 months after coma, amnesia, woman regains memory, says husband tried to kill her
A 23-year-old woman from Kannauj, UP, was found with severe head injuries in south Delhi’s Pulprahladpur, she regained her memory at Batra Hospital after four months and exposed a murder planned by her husband. The victim, Madhuri Chand, was found unconscious at a construction site. Police said she had been beaten with bricks and sticks brutally. Madhuri was found by some labourers and was rushed to a hospital in an unconscious state. She stayed in coma for two months though her injuries healed. In August, she came out of coma but due to retrograde amnesia, she was unable to identify her attacker. “After two months of efforts, doctors finally succeeded and Madhuri regained her memory. Her statement was recorded and she accused Ravi Singh, alias Tinku (her husband) of attacking her,” said Romil Baaniya, deputy commissioner of police (southeast). On Sunday, Ravi, her husband was arrested from his village after she regained her memory and was able to identify him as her assaulter. Ravi confessed that he was in another relationship and wanted Madhuri out of the way, as he married her out of family pressure. As she regained bits of her lost memory October 6 and named Ravi, the police swung to action and arrested him from Muzaffarnagar on Sunday. -PTC News
