Bargari sacrilege case: Punjab appoints special public prosecutor

Bargari sacrilege case: The Punjab Government, led by Charanjit Singh Channi, on Friday appointed senior lawyer Rajwinder Singh Bains as special public prosecutor.

Orders in this regard have also been issued. As per the orders (copy attached below), Rajwinder Singh Bains will appear in trail court/courts or the High Court in cases related to sacrilege and police firing registered at Kotakpur and Bazakhana police stations.

Earlier, the Punjab Police had denied reports of giving clean chit to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the 2015 Bargari sacrilege case.
