Captain Amarinder Singh writes to BCCI on IPL excluding Mohali as match venue

Day after IPL Governing Council announced the schedule for IPL 2021, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday said that if Mumbai can host a match where 9,000 cases are being reported on daily basis then what was wrong with Mohali.

Likewise, he has written to BCCI regarding the same. He said, "I have written to them (BCCI) saying if they can have a match in Mumbai, which has had 9,000 cases per day, then what's wrong with Mohali."

On IPL 2021 schedule, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that if Mumbai can host match then why not Mohali.

"We will take the necessary precautions," said Captain Amarinder Singh on IPL 2021 excluding Mohali as match venue.

The IPL Governing Council on Sunday announced the schedule for IPL 2021. The IPL will return home with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata hosting the event.

On IPL 2021 schedule, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that if Mumbai can host match then why not Mohali.

On March 2, Punjab CM had said, "I am surprised at the exclusion of Mohali Cricket Stadium for the upcoming IPL season. I urge and appeal to BCCI and IPL to reconsider their decision.”

On IPL 2021 schedule, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that if Mumbai can host match then why not Mohali.

"There is no reason why Mohali can't host IPL and our Government will make all necessary arrangements for safety against Covid-19," he had said.

As per the latest data published by the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu have been witnessing an upsurge in daily new cases.
