Now handycam is handy for Chandigarh traffic cops

In a major development, the Chandigarh police has started recording violation on Handycam to deal with the traffic violators who argue with cops over violations. As per the report, the police will later send challan to the violators on the basis of recording.

Reportedly, there are 20 handycams with the traffic police. The handycams have been given to the traffic cops stationed at accident-prone intersections to capture the traffic violations.

DSP Charanjit Singh Virk, the spokesperson for the Chandigarh Police, said traffic motorists argue with cops that they had not violated any traffic rule.

Meanwhile, the DSP Charanjit Singh Virk, a spokesperson for the Chandigarh Police, said most of the motorists argue with cops that they had not violated any traffic rule. Therefore, the cops would be equipped with the handycams to keep recording while on duty, the DSP said.

He said that the cop would hands over the recording to the staff after returning to the Traffic Lines. The cop would also provide the information on violations recorded on the Handycam. Likewise, a challan will be issued to the violator based on the recording of a TVIS (traffic violation information slip).
