Chandigarh, March 12: A dynamic round table conference convened in Chandigarh with the overarching goal of fostering inclusivity and strengthening collaboration between the LGBTQIA community and various institutions, including governmental bodies. The event, organised in partnership with the British Deputy High Commission in Chandigarh and facilitated by Rubaroo, an esteemed NGO based in Hyderabad dedicated to social inclusion, drew together a diverse array of stakeholders deeply committed to advancing LGBTQIA rights and promoting inclusivity.

In his opening address, Amandeep Grewal, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Deputy High Commission in Chandigarh, reiterated the UK Government's steadfast dedication to nurturing societies where safety, opportunity, and respect are inherent rights for every individual, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Grewal underscored the critical role of promoting gender diversity and inclusion in realising this vision, acknowledging the myriad challenges faced by LGBTQIA individuals, including pervasive discrimination and exclusion across various domains of life.
