Coronavirus patients can now opt for home isolation; Here're the guidelines

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) stated that very mild or presymptomatic Covid-19 patients may opt for home isolation, given that his/ her residence has the facility to do so.
Who can go for home isolation?
- The person who has been clinically assigned as a very mild case/ pre-symptomatic case by the treating medical officer. However, he/she need to fill in an undertaking on the agreement before opting for self-isolation.
- Such a person should have the required facility for self-isolation at home and also for quarantining the family contacts.
- A care giver and all the close contacts should be available to provide care on a 24x7 basis. A communication link with the hospital and caregiver for the entire duration of home isolation is a prerequisite.
- The care giver and all close contacts of such cases should take Hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis as per the protocol.
- Download Arogya Setu App on mobile and it should remain active at all times.
- The patient shall agree to monitor his health and regularly inform his health status to the District Surveillance Officer for further follow up by the surveillance teams.
- The patient will fill in an undertaking on self-isolation and shall follow home quarantine guidelines. Such individuals shall be eligible for home isolation.
