Coronavirus update: India reports 18,833 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hrs

Coronavirus India update: India on Wednesday reported 18,833 new cases and 24,770 recoveries in the last 24 hours, according to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the active caseload stands at 2,46,687, the lowest in 203 days.

Among 18,346 new Covid-19 cases, 8,850 were reported from Kerala, the Ministry stated while giving coronavirus update about India.

The active caseload of the country stands at 2,52,902; accounting for less than 1 percent of the total cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the total number of samples tested up to October 5 is 57,68,03,867 including 14,09,825 samples tested on Tuesday.

The testing capacity has been ramped up extensively and so far India has conducted 57,68,03,867 COVID-19 sample tests, informed the ICMR on Wednesday.

Of the total test conducted, 14,09,825 samples were tested yesterday.

The ministry also informed that, under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive, India has administered 91.54 (91,54,65,826) crore vaccine doses, of which 72,51,419 were administered in the last 24 hours.
