Cow cess imposed in five nagar councils of Gurdaspur district
With an idea to generate more funds to take care of stray cattle, The municipal corporation Gurdaspur on Sunday, approved imposition of cow cess on electricity charges in five nagar councils of Gurdapur districts including – Dina Nagar, Sri Hargobindpur Sahib , Qadian , Dhariwal and Gurdaspur.
Electricity consumers will have to pay 2 paisa per unit as cow cess. There are around 10 lakh electricity consumers in Gurdaspur district.
