An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 jolts region near Jammu and Kashmir

An earthquake of Magnitude 4.6 jolts the region near Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The tremor occurred at 8:09 am and depth of the earthquake was 206 km.

The epicenter of the earthquake is north of Gilgit, near the Khunjerab Sab in the Karakoram Mountains.

There were no reports of causalities or damage to properties so far.

More details are awaited.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) told the sources that the tremors were felt in Kupwara and Bandipore also.
