Earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale strikes Nicobar Islands region
An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit Nicobar Islands region on Monday morning. According to the media sources, the quake hit a depth of almost 10 km at around 7:30 am.

The disaster management control room briefed the media that there were no immediate reports of causalities or damage so far. The people of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands felt the earthquake.

The disaster management team further said that there was no tsunami alert.
