Pakistani designer reveals clients' desire to emulate Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt's style

PTC News Desk: Pakistani fashion designer Nomi Ansari recently shed light on the unrealistic expectations many of his clients harbour, particularly when it comes to emulating the looks of Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.

During an interview on the show "Hasna Mana Hai" with Tabish Hashmi, Ansari disclosed the prevalent trend among women in Pakistan who aspire to mirror the style and appearance of these renowned Bollywood stars. Despite being based in Pakistan, Deepika and Alia have garnered significant admiration for their film roles and fashion sense, transcending borders and captivating audiences worldwide.

Ansari's revelation underscores the enduring influence of Bollywood celebrities on fashion trends and beauty standards, even beyond the confines of the Indian film industry. As clients seek to embody the elegance and allure epitomised by Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, Ansari navigates the delicate balance between fulfilling their desires and managing their expectations in a fashion landscape characterised by ever-evolving trends and influences.

Desire for Alia or Deepika's look: Pakistani designer's candid revelation

In response to inquiries about client requests, Nomi Ansari, renowned for his contemporary yet traditional designs, shared, "Everyone approaches with hopeful requests. However, turning their aspirations into reality requires a starting point. Many aspire to resemble Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone, yet lack the physique, lifestyle, or audience to achieve such a look."

When pressed on how he handles such clients, the designer quipped, "I could make them resemble Alia's father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt."

Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt continue to make waves as regular fixtures on the international red carpet scene

In a trajectory reminiscent of Bollywood icons like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt made her Met Gala debut in 2023, donning a stunning white princess gown. Later that year, at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Alia dazzled in two equally stylish outfits.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone has graced numerous international red carpets, from the Oscars and Met Gala to the Cannes Film Festival. Each appearance has been marked by iconic fashion moments, including her classic black gown at the Oscars 2023, her Barbie-esque pink ensemble at the Met Gala 2019, and her elegant sarees at the Cannes Film Festival. Earlier this year, she also turned heads in a saree at the Baftas, cementing her status as a fashion icon on the global stage.
