High Court issues notice to Education Secretary and DGSE for not providing uniform to School Students

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to the Punjab Education Secretary, Krishan Kumar, and Director-General School Education (DGSE), Prashan Goel,  for not providing uniforms to the school students.

Under the scheme of the Punjab Government, all students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and girl students from primary to class VIII are to provided two sets of uniform each.

According to the media sources, the Education Department had not received funds from the state government to buy new uniforms. Because of this, students are forced to wear old uniforms.
