Youth Olympic Games: India ends its campaign with a silver in Archery

India wrapped up its campaign in the 3rd Youth Olympic Games  with a silver in Archery. Fifteen-year-old Akash gave India its ninth Silver and 13th medal of the games by finishing second in men's Recurve Individual.

Akash lost to Trenton Cowles of the US in the final 79-85 (6-0)

With scores of 26, 27 and 26, Akash was nowhere near his gold medal rival Trenton who notched up 28,29,28 in the final shoot.

Earlier, Akash beat Senna Roos of Belgium in semifinals 6-0, winning all the three rounds. In the quarterfinals Akash had overpowered Carlos Vara of Cuba  6-4. Senna won the bronze in the event.

This was India's first medal in archery in the 3rd Youth Olympic Games. With this medal, India took its tally to 13 medals, including three gold and nine silver medals.
