Jalandhar orders registration of FIR against black-marketing of Remdesivir injections

Taking a tough action against the black-marketing of Remdesivir required for the Covid-19-treatment, Jalandhar Administration on Wednesday asked the local police authority to launch an FIR against a person allegedly involved in black-marketing of the drug.

Giving the details, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that a complaint was received from Reema Guglani against a person namely Luv Mehra for hoarding these Remdesivir injections.

After a preliminary inquiry, the allegations against the accused were found to be true prima facie, he said, adding that the recommendation for lodging an FIR under Epidemic Disease Act and Disaster Management Act has been made to the police department.

He also mentioned that the complainant would be rewarded by the administration in case their evidence against black-marketing led to the registration of an FIR against offenders.
