The US pharma giant Johnson and Johnson's single-dose Covid-19 vaccine has become the fifth vaccine to be approved by the government of India.
Taking to Twitter, the Union Health Minister Mansuk Mandaviya informed the same.

"India expands its vaccine basket! Johnson and Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine is given approval for Emergency Use in India. Now India has 5 EUA vaccines," he tweeted.

This will be India's fifth Covid-19 vaccine to get approval after Covishield, Covaxin, Sputnik V, and Moderna in India.
Earlier on August 5, 2021, the Johnson and Johnson Pvt. Ltd had applied for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine to the Government of India.
The company stated that it was an important milestone to bring the single-dose Covid-19 vaccine to the people of India through collaboration with Biological E. Limited.
Biological E is going to be an important part of Johnson and Johnson's global supply chain network, the company stated. It has been helping to supply its Covid-19 vaccine Janssen via extensive collaborations and partnerships with governments.
