Monkey shot dead, buried in farm; FIR registered

A person allegedly shot a monkey to death and buried it in the farm in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district. The accused, Ram Narayan Ram shot the monkey dead and buried in a farm outside Husenpur village in Sikandarpur area.

The villagers filed a complained on Tuesday, following which, the forest department officials dug out the body. They sent the body for post-mortem. An FIR has been registered against the accused of allegedly shooting a monkey to death and burying it in a farm. The preliminary investigation of the body revealed three injury marks on the body of the monkey.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Wildlife Protection Act. Investigations are underway. Further details are awaited.
