Eight killed, several injured as bus rams into truck, catches fire on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

The accident happened when a passenger bus carrying around 37 people crashed into a truck and caught fire.

PTC News Desk: Eight people were killed and at least 22 others injured in a tragic road accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district early Wednesday morning. The accident happened when a passenger bus carrying around 37 people crashed into a truck and caught fire.


The bus was travelling from Rishikesh to Indore when the incident occurred around 2:30 am. Officials said eight passengers lost their lives, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Six bodies were initially moved to the district hospital as rescue and recovery work continued.


Police, firefighters and emergency teams quickly reached the spot and launched rescue operations. Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit monitored the rescue efforts. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed grief and offered condolences to the families of those who died.

Police teams are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
